Goodnight Worcester is a children’s picture book of my watercolors and poem about Worcester, Massachusetts. Illustrations include Shrewsbury and Water Street views, the American Antiquarian Society, Worcester Sharks and Tornadoes, Union Station, the Public Library, City Hall, Hanover Theater, Mechanics Hall, colleges and universities, Green Hill Park, Elm Park, Ecotarium, Worcester Art Museum, Higgins Armory, Tuckerman Hall and other landmarks.
Shortly after my twins were born, I decided to write and illustrate them a book about their city. So when they were infants, we spent countless afternoons observing, drawing, and documenting parts of Worcester. The book was completed, printed (locally at American Printing in Auburn) and given to Henry and Sophia when they turned one. It was their first birthday present.
